Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday unveiled the national emblem cast on the roof of the new Parliament Building.
During the event, the Prime Minister also interacted with the those part of the workforce involved in the construction of the grand new Parliament building.The emblem was unveiled following a puja attended by the Prime Minister.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were present on the occasion.
The new parliament building project will cost the government Rs 1,250 crore. The cost shot up by 29 per cent over the budgeted expenditure of Rs 977 crore. The building, which is the highlight of the government's ambitious Central Vista project, is being built by Tata Projects.
🏠Let's know about new Parliament
As part of India's Central Vista Redevelopment Project, a new parliament building is currently under construction in New Delhi. Once completed, it will be the seat of the Parliament of India, which currently occupies Parliament House, located directly opposite the new building's site.
