The beginning:-
Raised ina Santhali tribal family, she is the first woman from the village who left the village to attend college.
Her career started as a teacher then she also worked as a government Clark and she joined BJP in 1997.
Family :-
Her husband shyam charan murmu a bank officer, passed away in 2014.
Both her sons died one at the age of 25 and second at the age of 21.
He currently resides in Bhuvaneshwar with her daughter Itishree Murmu and son-in-law Ganesh Hembram.
Career Highlight :-
1.🔹From 1983 to 1994, she served as a general Clark and teacher.
2.🔹Started political career with BJP from 1997.she then become a councilor from Rachrangpur.
3.🔹Elected as MLA form Rachrangpur for the first time in 2000 on a Bjp ticket.
4.🔹In 2002,she became Independent Minister of state for Fisherise and Animal Husbandry in the Government of the Odisha.
5.🔹In 2006,Odisha state president of the Schedules tribes front of the BJP.
6.🔹In 2007,she was awarded the "Neelkanth Award" As the best MLA.
7.🔹From the first time in 2009,she became an MLA Rairagpur district of the Odisha district for the second time.
